will be visiting Uganda to work on an African Cultural Exchange

program that will see a construction of a hospital in rural areas
of Uganda.

Summary
African Cultural Exchange (ACE) functions to provide cultural ingredients
to the rich mega ethnic cultural melting pot that is the metropolitan
areas Houston, Beaumont and Texas in general. That unique role is
to help create, implement, and operate education and cultural enrichment
programs with an African perspective. Since its inception in 1991,
ACE has continued to feature excellent cultural programs to the people
of Texas. Such programs include, (but has not been limited to): cultural
exhibitions, the arts-in-education, traditional music and dance productions,
sporting events, economic empowerment coordination, and more.
Organizational
History
Since
1991, when ACE was established, we have been involved
in the creation, implementation, and operation of educational
and cultural enrichment programs enumerated above. African
Cultural Exchange has worked with many community organizations
both public and private, these include Harris County,
Spring
Branch, Alief, Aldine Independent School Districts, City
of Houston Housing Authority, Parks and Recreation Centers
of Cy-Fair, Bellaire and Houston, Jewish, Asian, Caribbean,
Latino/Hispanic, and Indigenous Americas’ communities,
Texas A&M, Texas Southern, Rice, Prairie View A&M,
Baylor College, Lamar Universities, Houses of Faith and
other institutions.

African Cultural Exchange, (ACE) is based in Houston with a
chapter in Beaumont, Texas ACE is a non-profit, cultural-arts-in-education
organization. Dedicated to educating students through the arts
and to making the cultural-arts an integral part of the school
curriculum. ACE believes that the arts can promote creative
and critical thinking skills, foster academic achievement, provide
positive role models, enhance self-esteem, encourage wholesome
activities and increase in young people a sense of ownership
in the educational process, helping them choose to remain in
school.

A
World of Culture
During previous school years, ACE brought a world of
culture and arts of the world to more than 150,000 school children
in nearly 900 performances through schools from K-12 grades, colleges,
universities, parks and recreations centers, libraries, houses of
faith, and apartment complexes, ACE has carried out over 300 workshops,
residency and master class hours in schools, general community, museums,
hospitals, juvenile centers, and prisons. The artists on ACE’s
roster are highly skilled, professional teachers, musicians, dancers,
singers, actors and visual artists.
